A photo taken in 1905 of the Reading Room looking into the Alcove. On the left side are the doors that lead to the "Loggia," as it was described by famed architect Stanford White. At one time this room had piles of magazines and newspapers. Today we know this cozy area of the building as the Kinstler Room, which is adorned with portraits of famous actors.
