Meditation

As I sit in meditation-

eyes closed-

seeking enlightenment-

a Buddha appears.

The timeless images of the sun-

and the moon-

the mountains-

and the lakes.

The echo of things long past-

competes for my attention.

The earth reminds me to stay awake.
